This is my adventure.
Brittyn in Britain! I love that saying! Its simply perfect!
Two years ago my journey to where I am now all started. During the summer of 2013, I went on a mission trip with my church's college group to Germany. There we did construction work on the GEM headquarters in a small town called Kandern. It was here that I had my first exposure to GEM, or Greater Europe Mission. After spending about a week and a half in Germany, I knew I wanted to go back to Europe and I wanted to do it soon. I briefly entertained the idea of interning at the headquarters in Kandern during the Spring of 2015, but I unfortunately had one last semester of junior college to complete during that time.
It wasn't until a friend of mine started her process of becoming a GEM intern that I began to express interest in the opportunity myself. I can distinctly remember the afternoon I spent looking at all the different internship opportunities available to me and daydreaming about all the potential that stared back at me from the computer screen. And then, as they say, the rest is history.
I was beyond excited when I found out that I will be spending my internship in Brierley Hill, England. While there, I will get the chance to invest my time, gifts and love into a church called Church in the Community. I will be working alongside Andy Hodson, a GEM missionary and UK field leader. In addition, I will be interning with three lovely girls named Jo Beth, Nicole and Kaci. I am so blessed to have been given this opportunity and I can't wait to see what the Lord has for me in all of this. Be sure to check my blog weekly as I will do my best to keep you updated on everything God is doing in Brierley Hill and in me as well!
